Tell us a little bit about yourself.
Well for starters my name is Angelic and I am an author of a style blog (Chic That Happened). I actually have lived between two countries my entire life. I was born here, in California, and I traveled back and forth to Mexico about three times a year. I now live permanently in the U.S., but this most definitely influenced how I see the world and how I see fashion, so I am extremely thankful for this.

Describe your personal style and its influences / inspiration.
My personal style is very much vintage based and that’s as specific as it can get because I don’t stick to one theme at all. My influences come from all over the place, I pull from old movies (mainly 30’s-60) and I love bright colors- this I have to say comes from Mexico and its bright traditional clothing.

What do you want to do/accomplish in the next 10 years?
Omygoodness is this good question! I would love to be settled into the fashion industry, particularly the journalism field. I’ve always wanted control over the editorial portions of a magazine. Working at Vogue Italia would be my dream and of course having my own shoe line.

How did you first get interested in fashion and why is it important?
Fashion has always been in my life, I consider my mom the original shopaholic, but I have to say the moment I decided this industry was for me was when I saw the editorial Drew Barrymore did in the theme of Beauty & the Beast.

What are your greatest passions?
My greatest passions are listed in a list of three: 1) Fashion- of course! 2) Music- I love to look through old records and discover local bands 3) Food- I’ve always said if fashion didn’t work out, food would have to be a backup. I could picture myself happy as a food critic

Favorite designers and places to shop?
Hmm…that’s a hard one. It ranges by season, based on the last season I would have to say Oscar de la Renta, Louis Vuitton, and always McQueen! I shop at thrift stores; I always find the best unique things at half the price!

Most loved/used item in your closet?

At present it’s a pair of Sam Edelman faux python heels. They are my first set of pointy heels (because I’ve always been against that style) but I just love them!

What's on your IPOD / bookshelf / DVD player at the moment?
This is the funniest thing, most people agree that if they looked at my music before they saw me they’d think me an old lady. I love good old classics like Lena Horne, Julie London, Nat King Cole, etc. Other than that I like to play classic rock (Aerosmith) and the most modern music I listen to would have to be Ida Maria. Bookwise….my favorite of the moment is the new series by Anna Godbersen (love the era’s she writes about) .

The first thing you look at in another person's outfit is:
Shoes! Shoes can make or break the outfit and I love them so dearly!

What do you splurge on?
Probably shoes….I have more shoes than clothes, but I just love them too much. I can’t tell you how extensively I look at the shoe department first before any other part of the store.

A fashion rule you never break:
Proportion. Shamelessly, I like to break almost all rules- but something that is not form-fitted or figure flattering is hard for me to love. Because once you have something bulky on top as well as the bottom the outfit starts to look less styled and more sloppy

What is your next must have purchase?
Oh goodness I was just tweeting about this! I’m not too crazy for trends, but the slippers (http://us.asos.com/search/aldo-slippers?hrd=1&q=aldo+slippers&r=2) I’ve been seeing around like these are just too gorgeous!

Are there any fashion icons or famous people whose style you admire?

Hmm….Hanneli Mustaparta and Katherine Hepburn.

Next place you want to travel to:
Spain- I love to travel but Spain has been on my bucket list forever. I want to go and find my ancestral family

What is the ultimate showpiece in your closet?
A silk, black Celine blouse. I actually haven’t had this piece on my blog yet- it’s like untouchable and I want to make sure the outfit I style it with is superb.

Which magazines, blogs, books, and movies are your favorites?
Mgazines…Vogue Italia, Teen Vogue, and Numero Tokyo and China. Books…..The Picture of Dorian Gray, East by Edith Pattou, and movies….Devil Wears Prada ( I feel like this is a given), Breakfast at Tiffany’s , Gone with the Wind, and Eat Pray Love ( can't even describe how inspirational this movie really was!)

What can't you live without?
My mom. She’s the one person who has supported me in all my choices and the first person I ask whether an outfit looks good or not.

Who are your favorite actresses?
Leighton Meester (she just nails Blair Waldorf perfectly), Audrey Hepburn, Liz Taylor, and Vivien Leigh.

Do your favorite actresses influence how you dress?
Yes I do believe they do! Audrey Hepburn is just such a classic fashion icon its hard not to let her style infiltrate mine

What is your beauty routine? What products do you use?

Well, currently I’m hooked on a brand named Yes to Tomatoes, so I use their gentle cleanser and I just tried a new product I love called Bio Oil. You can pick it up at Walgreens, some of this stuff after cleansing leaves your face baby smooth in the morning. For foundation I use the Lush foundation in light pink, mixed with a basic moisturizer. It goes on flawlessly and I never feel like I have too much product on. I’m obsessed with Melon pigment by Mac, this can be used as eye shadow, highlighter, etc. All of my eye shadows are from Bare Minerals (this was the first brand of make-up I started using) and my favorite mascara is the Sephora version. I’ve tried tons of different mascara’s, but this one goes on smooth and never flakes.

What is your hair routine? What products do you use?

I use Wen. It’s pretty funny when you watch the infomercials, but after using this I will never go back to regular shampoo products. I can’t even begin to explain how healthy my hair is now.

Most outrageous outfit you’ve ever worn?

Oh I have worn some crazy ones! I have to say, recently, it would be an outfit I wore to the Topshop party. It was vintage high-waisted black leather trousers, worn with a body suit I spent weeks on designing a mosaic on (attaching glass tiles and an assortment of beads). The bodysuit turned out pretty crazy and ironically I didn’t get any pictures that night...

Favorite pair of shoes/purse/accessories?
Shoes…I can’t get over a pair of white Doc Martens I snagged for $25 recently, this was the deal of the year and I got them brand new! Purse…a classic Dooney and Bourke from my mother’s closet.
