StyleMint LIVE Review

StyleMint Live was on April 20th from 1-3 (Atlantic Time), I was beyond excited for this event.

Why you ask?

The fashion greats of today were going to be LIVE giving style tips, talking about upcoming trends, and #1 thing was that Mary-Kate Olsen was answering fans questions (had to submit questions via Facebook and Twitter before the LIVE show)! By fashion greats I mean people we all love and look up to like Hillary Kerr from, Andrew Bevan from Teen Vogue (who is now following me on Twitter! If you were in Canada you probably heard my girlish squeal when I received the notification), Rachel Zoe, Erica Domesek of P.S. I Made This, Glamour’s Contributing Style Editor Tracey Lomrantz, Makeup Artist Gucci Westman for Revlon, and Rachel Shechtman of Story (great store, you should totally visit if you are in NYC). Not to mention THE Mary-Kate Olsen was appearing live as well!

Basically this event made me lose sleep for days just because of pure excitement and a little bit of nervousness. I sent in countless questions for Mary-Kate Olsen, I mean this was one of those experiences that doesn't happen everyday. I have looked up to both Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen since I can remember.

So StyleMint LIVE came quickly and I had my notepad and pen handy, browser was open with both Twitter and ready just in case...

The whole show I just watched and listened in awe. I wrote notes of course, and am putting them in my "fashion/inspiration'' journal.

About 30 minutes into the video (see below via and Mary-Kate answers questions from the fans. Of course I wasn't expecting to have my questions answered, there were so many that were submitted! I was the first question and the third to be answered by Mary-Kate. I absolutely loved her responses, make sure to check out the video below if you missed the LIVE event! I especially enjoyed Hillary Kerr's excitement over the spelling of my name (two L's just like her) and even that she mentioned me at all. I was shaking with ... I don't even know how to describe my emotions to be honest with you!! I won 2 free t-shirt credits from StyleMint for having my questions answered and I gained a whole bunch of happiness in my heart.

All in all this event was spectacular. I really hope they host another LIVE show like this, it makes me love StyleMint even more as a brand, and it made me have such a new-found respect for all of the special guests especially Andrew Bevan and Hillary Kerr, who hosted the event. Makeup Artist Gucci Westman for Revlon, did a couple make-up tutorials which I must confess I ran out and bought the 2 lip butters she used during the show! Erica Domesek of P.S. I Made This showed us how to DIY a tribal type of top using just a little fabric paint and a roller. She also showed us how to make out StyleMint totes look extra unique. Glamour’s Contributing Style Editor Tracey Lomrantz showed 3 trends for Spring which were very informative. Rachel Shechtman of Story explained the concept of her editorial type store...if you haven't heard of Story I think you should look it up right now, it is a beautiful concept and a beautiful store! Rachel speaks about Story during the above video if you're looking for more information. If you live in the NYC area Story is actually selling StyleMint tees for a limited time so you should head in and see what you're missing out on!

StyleMint even offered special discount codes that were good until Sunday. They even offered Mary-Kate Olsen's shirt she was wearing during the show AND she would sign it as well to the next lucky person who bought 3 shirts. I almost bought the 3 I had sitting in my cart during the entire LIVE event only to realize I didn't have my new credit card information. I just wanted to cry!! But I still have a wonderful, once in a lifetime experience. Hopefully Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen hold an event during Fashion's Night Out this year, if they do I will most definitely be attending!

Thank you to StyleMint for such a nice and unique experience. I know I appreciated it, and I am sure other lovers of the brand did as well.
