Best of NYFW Day 2

Day 2 of New York Fashion Week had some great shows and magnificent collections.

Monique Lhuillier has been my favorite collection so far. The intricate details in the designs, the colours, shapes and overall flow of the dresses made me fall in love with fashion all over again. The collection was strong, yet still feminine and somehow reminded me of what a modern day flapper would wear. It's hard to imagine any woman who would say no to a Monique Lhullier dress, they are so completely mesmerizing.

I was disappointed in Alexander Wang's collection. I don't know what it is about his designs, but I just don't understand them. I have always liked his handbags, but he doesn't make clothing that will make women look good wearing them. I am curious as to what he will bring to Balenciaga in the future collections.

Lacoste Fall 2013 RTW

I enjoyed the shapes and colours that Lacoste had in this collection. The orange was a great change and I really enjoyed the pocket details on the cobalt blue dress.

This dress is fantastic. Look at the placement of the zippers. Genius.

Jill Stuart Fall 2013 RTW

Jill Stuart's collection was extremely feminine, but it had that edge that could make the designs wearable for every kind of woman.  I really liked the cut out designs on the dresses, the placement of fur and detailing, and the patterns.

Showstopper. This dress is fantastic!

Prabal Gurung Fall 2013 RTW

I think Prabal Gurung is the master of jackets. The jackets in this collection were magnificent! I loved the raw edginess of the designs with the harness, thigh high boots, cut out knits and sleek shapes. There was a great take on the peplum trend by only using half of the peplum design at the waist. It created an entirely different look.

Another stunner.
Chloe Sevigny for Opening Ceremony

This collection reminded me of what a school girl would have worn in the 70's. Very unique and very Opening Ceremony.

Herve Leger by Max Azria

This collection was wonderful. The dresses are tailored to make any woman look like a million dollars. I loved the intricate designs with sequins and leather. The leather baseball caps made the models look casual, it was a nice contrast with the dresses.
My favorite look from this collection.

TIBI

Tibi had great silhouettes and usage of colour in this collection. The long knits with the shorter skirts was great.

Band of Outsiders Fall 2013 RTW

This collection made me think of Alice in Wonderland and I'm not 100% sure why. I really enjoyed this collection. The usage and placement of the fur; even just the patterns on the fur was great it really made the outfits pop.The long slinky dresses were a nice change from form fitting dresses.

Monique Lhuillier Fall 2013 RTW

Favorite collection. Hands down.

My personal favorite. The designs look like spider webs and they are mesmerizing.

Altuzarra Fall 2013 RTW

I really liked the usage of black and white in this collection and the jackets were very detailed and different.

Christian Siriano Fall 2013 RTW

Christian Siriano's Fall collection is moody and romantic. It was inspired by the golden age of Russian opera.
