Happy Halloween!

Halloween is my favorite night of the year. My favorite costumes since childhood have to be all the homemade ones! We are a crafty family, so making costumes was always so much fun.

I've never been into what my boyfriend calls "cliche" Halloween costumes. You know - revealing dresses, skeleton face make-up, zombies, french maids... I've always tried to be 100% original when choosing my costumes.

My favorites:
Black Cat. My tail was made out of black pantyhose and stuffed with newspaper. It was amazing.
Where's Waldo. I made my entire costume with my grandmother. This was in 2006. So really I was Waldo before it was cool.
I also made my own Wednesday Addams costume with my Mom WAYYYY back, and even dyed my hair black. It was great!
Peacock. I made a peacock costume about 4 years ago. It was
beautiful and really made me want to go into fashion design even more!
Sailor Mars. I made this costume from hand (my sewing machine was broken) it was for a college Halloween party and oh so fabulous!
and this year may just be the best of the best...
A PARROT!!!!!!!!
That's right, I'm wearing the costume from the set of Don't Trust the B in Apartment 23! Worn by Krysten Ritter when she portrayed Chloe!

And there's some throwback Halloween photos too!

Happy Halloween folks! Stay SPOOKY

Joe Fresh x Sophia Bush

Sophia Bush is one of those extrememly talented and lovely people that you only dream about meeting. She's inspirational, and has great style. Her Instagram is constantly filled with things that make you want to be a better person.
Sophia has been on the style radar since her portrayal of "Brooke" on One Tree Hill. She has this really wonderful feminine, yet edgy style that you rarely can find.
I love that she has collaborated with Joe Fresh (my favourite affordable brand!) to showpiece her favorite pieces and some of her advice on shopping and style.
It's always an adventure to go grocery shopping - Joe Fresh Women's Fashion just stares at you and you always end up taking home something amazing.

Behati Prinsloo | Fashion Files

Behati is a Victoria's Secret Angel, and has the most original style I have seen on the city streets for a long time. It's edgy, yet feminine. I absolutely love it! Her style is amazing, and I love how she wears vintage oxblood Doc Martens all the time. Truly, a girl after my own heart.
I am actually obsessed with her Black Milk cut out suspender leggings, I need them in my life and can't wait until they're restocked.
So many photos, so much inspiration.

Hat Envy

Tis the season for hats!
I love hats, I collect hats and I have quite the collection of extraordinary chapeau's!
This season, I am absolutely addicted to felt fedora hats and berets. I have gathered quite a bit of inspiration for my hat envy and I can't wait to pick up a Rag & Bone felt fedora for myself plus, there's this fabulous magenta beret from American Apparel that I just can't help myself... I might need to pick it up for this season as well!

MAC x Nasty Gal Collaboration

It's a #GirlBoss dream
MAC and Sophia Amoruso have collaborated for a stellar line of lipsticks and a nail polish which is being released on December 4th!
My birthday is December 6th, so I think this collaboration was meant to be.
I'm a total #GirlBoss and will most definately be purchasing this entire collection! I'll post a review with swatches when December rolls around.
Get excited!

Now Playing | Maps by Maroon 5

Cried like a baby when I saw this video... maybe because it was so real and completely hit home? It's currently on repeat.
"I like to think that we had it all
We drew a map to a better place
But on that road I took a fall
Oh baby why did you run away?"

Beauty Room | Jaclyn Hill

Jaclyn Hill is one of the only YouTube beauty guru's I follow religously. I feel like I've been watching her for years!
I learned a lot of wonderful tricks and beauty tips from her, and I continue to learn from her with each and every video she uploads.
Her fashion and style is very unique. I love her big chunky earrings and necklaces and her interior design skills are top notch. I mean this entire post is dedicated to her beauty room - it's a stunner!

Favorites Friday | Pumpkin Pie Milkshake

October is the month of pumpkin.
So of course my Friday Favorite is Pumpkin Pie milkshake - just in time for Thanksgiving.
1 container Pumpkin Ice Cream
1/4 cup Milk (Whole recommended)
1 package (3 crackers) Honey Graham Crackers, crushed
1 can Whipped Cream
1 Tbsp Pumpkin Caramel Sauce or Fleur de Sel Caramel Sauce
1 pinch Pumpkin Pie Spice
Combine ice cream, milk, and all but a handful of graham cracker crumbles in a blender. Pulse ingredients together on high until smooth. Pour milkshake into a glass and garnish with whipped cream, caramel sauce, remaining graham cracker crumbles and pumpkin pie spice. Enjoy!

Repetto | A Ballerina's Dream

When I heard that Repetto released a perfume - I think my heart actually skipped a beat. I've been wearing Repetto ballet slippers what seems like my entire life. I have always loved dance and ballet. I am a 20-something enrolled in a ballet class for adults. I'm dedicated to the dance.
I received a sample of the Repetto Eau de Toilette and it lives up to it's expectations. The romantic smell really reminds me of ballet, and I love the ribbon that goes along with it - really a perfect touch to the packaging.
Top notes are pear and cherry blossom; middle notes are rose and orange blossom; base notes are amber, woody notes and vanilla pod. It's a really lovely, beautiful fragrance.
It's elegant, and inviting. It's not that "old lady scent" either if you know what I mean. Sometimes perfumes with notes of rose in it can put you off, but trust me on this one : this fragrance is a great investment and a very classy scent.

Happy October!

Happy October!
My favourite month of the year. I love candy corn, pumpkins, sweater weather, bringing out my scarves, and spooky decor!
This is the one month a year that I watch horror movies. Although, I really do wish Halloween was every day - I definately couldn't handle the horror flicks all year round.
I got my parrot costume, decor bought, new plaid scarf and I'm ready! Come on October!
